This is where I put some excerpts, work in progress and other prose. Some of it may never fit anywhere, some (I hope) may be brought into a final book.

Prose & Other Work

Always Secret

This is another story about minor characters in films. I always wondered who these people were. It was brought to mind watching the first Daniel Craig Bond film, when he is handed an envelope by a character we hardly even see.

Decisions

I don't know why I wrote this. It doesn't fit into any other work and the style is (I think) a little different. It would be wrong to say I liked it - but, although it needs some work, I'm happy with the tone.

Joy

For a while, I thought I had forgotten how to write.

Life - as it does - has interferred with…everything. I have, however, been trying to find and recognise the joy that exists.

Here is a first-draft excerpt from a novel I am struggling with, all about remembering joy:

One Single Moment

I had the thought about writing about very minor film characters. The guard in a Bond film that is killed in the first two minutes; the doorman; the spy (never named of course) who passes the lead character a package and is never seen again. This is one of these.
