Not Unto Us

I have one finished novel in place - “Not Unto Us”. I am working/tinkering with what I hope is a final draft, and re-writing what was a rather poor synopsis. The book ended darker than I thought it might, but I am happy with it - proud in fact.

David Ford, and ex-Army investigator, is asked to look into the disappearance of a young man from The Temple in London. He is quickly drawn into a confusing world, and one that soon becomes dangerous. Battling murder attempts and unhelpful executives - as well as his own demons from previous missions - David struggles to find the truth, while learning to love.

Books

In Plain Sight

This is a work in progress - have a look at the News section for some updates.

This is a story about redemption - for the self and the perceived need for redemption from others.

Centered around a tragic loss and one man’s devastating reaction to that loss, it examines the way that friendship can build between two people without romanticism getting in the way.

A Natural Girl

Mharigolden & Peeps

A children's book about a young girl and the fairy she befriends.

I hope this will become a series of books as Mhari grows into adulthood.

Untitled Fictional Biography

I have started work on a new book - an historical memoir of a fictional character. I’m still in the first flush of writing - maybe 14,000 words in. I like the ideas in the book (of course) and am enjoying getting to know the main character.

He’s quite different to the hero of “Not Unto Us” and getting the voice has been a challenge. I made the mistake early on of trying to work on the two together and just made a mess of both. So - I’m concentrating now on this new work.

This book is on hold - sadly someone got there with the character before I did, although the story is quite different. I may get back to that in due course.

Law Firm Governance and Measurements of Success

In my work as a consultant, I wrote a text book for the management of law firms. Published in 2012 (ISBN: 978-1-907787-35-5) "Law Firm Governance and Measurements of Success” is an examination of the best ways to manage a firm and  has a number of case studies.

It is available from “Managing Partner” web site. To be honest, although the points made in the book are, I believe, good ones, some of the characters are a little weak…
